Why Can’t I Get Pregnant?

One of my clients asked me “why can’t I get pregnant?” so I asked her a lot of questions about her lifestyle to work out why she was unable to get pregnant:

I asked about:

    Diet and nutrition
    Pressure at work
    Pressure in her relationship
Sex drive and frequency of intercourse
    Menstrual cycle
    Sleeping patterns
Length of time in trying to conceive
Lifestyle habits such as smoking and drinking
Whether any fertility treatments had been taken before

Before we go looking for a particular problem, there are some statistics you might like to know to put your “problem” of getting pregnant in context.

Taking the overall view of a number of studies, it seems that within the first month of trying to get pregnant, there is a 25% success rate on average. Within 6 months, it rises to 60%, in 9 months to 75% and by the end of a year, 8 out of 10 couples will be pregnant. By 18 months, 90% have conceived.

However long you have been trying, there are important things you can do to help the whole process.
